ABOUT ME

Benjamin John Burbidge is versatile actor based in New York

Born and raised in Athens Greece his love of theatre emerged at the early age of 8, performing and watching as much as possible. In school he was a major part of every production, both behind the scenes and on the stage, forming his own company when the system did not suffice.

Watching the classic works of Ancient Greece and Shakespeare, performed to high standards, in the historic amphitheatres of his home, nurtured his love of performance. The modern productions of London’s West End, in all their variety, and the vibrant creativity of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival continued to inspire his path.

Performing in the innovative Athens Players, under the direction of Peter Rose, led him to study the full spectrum of theatre in London, at East 15 Acting School, where the Contemporary Theatre Course equipped him with skills in improvisation, long form immersive performance, commedia dell'arte, acrobatics, devising, voice work, singing, and much more.

After his New York debut in the lead role of “Ahoy, Abel Brown!” by Tyler Grimes, Benjamin has continued to expand his skills to onscreen performing; playing leading roles in short films, web series, and television projects. He’s keen to continue extending his career in TV and Film, with a deep desire for all his work to be innovative, and earnest. Currently; Benjamin is an interactive improvisor, and core member, of Playing with Reality:

Appearing in Rocking Dead: Bedlam! an Immersive Interactive post apocalyptic world of freed morality and intricate polarization. http://www.rockingdeadnyc.com/#home

Thanks to Benjamin’s many passions he has been called on as an editor, director, production manager, web developer, sound designer, painter and visual media artist, builder, chef, guitarist, writer and set designer. Recently, his favorite outlets are yoga, biking, hiking and parkour, but his heart will always melt for the sundrenched waters of Greece, on a hot summer’s day.
